2020: A New Dawn in Teaching and Learning

I think it is suffice to say that 2020 threw curve balls our way when we least expected it. But on a highly positive note, it forced many educators to ‘level up’ and become more effective in our delivery of content by leveraging on remote learning technologies.

Personally, the last few months required a lot more preparation time (reminiscent of my days teaching in a school) but I have enjoyed this period of teaching – I’ve developed more ways and materials to better enrich my learners’ experience, apart from the conventional (and often dull) ‘pen and paper’ mode of learning.

Perhaps, fortunately, the Circuit Breaker period has broken the mould and imposed on many parents and students alike, to have a greater acceptance on the use of tech to learn. My hope is that, more parents get to experience good quality teaching and (just as, if not, more) effective learning that ARE possible through virtual delivery. After all, learning and working remotely from home has many merits when thoughtfully managed by the stakeholders.
