For many learners of science, they struggle to express what they have understood of abstract science concepts into structured and congruent answers. As such, they often ended up not being able to score in examinations. 

To help my tutees (from primary to secondary levels), I have come up with the acronym 'DECAL' as a fail-proof way of helping those who need a 'formula' to practise answering structured questions with.
